#1 The components:2 wires with the ends stripped about 5.16"2 mil spec knife locks2" length of vinyl tube2 mil spec cable ties#2 Make the connection:Crimp the knife locks to the wire ends.Slip the vinyl tube over one end of the wire.#3 Engage the two knife locks#4 Position tube over the splice and secure with the cable ties.Alternative: use heat shrink instead of vinyl tube to insulate and prevent unlocking.Knife Locks come in three wire gauges Red 22/18 , Blue 16/14 and Yellow 12/10awg.
